Sofa Renewals started with two good friends, Owen and Will, and a simple idea: put our spare time to good use, and keep good sofas out of landfill.
Three years ago we began sourcing quality second-hand sofas, the kind that had been genuinely well looked after, and giving each one a professional deep clean and any refurbishment it needed to bring it back to almost-new, ready for a new home. Over three years we've cleaned, refurbished and personally delivered hundreds of them to new homes across the South West, and we still offer carefully renewed second-hand sofas today.
Those years taught us sofas inside out: what makes a frame last, how different fabrics wear, what "comfortable" really means, and how much genuine care matters when something this big arrives at your door. They also earned us a reputation we're proud of, with 5-star reviews across Google and Facebook and hundreds of happy customers.
Then we went looking for sofas of our own. We walked into the big high-street showrooms expecting to pay a fair price for a decent sofa, and we were genuinely shocked. The same frame, the same foam, the same fabric we'd been handling for years, with a price tag two or three times what it was worth. We knew what these sofas were actually made of, because we'd taken enough of them apart to see. Nothing about those prices reflected the thing itself.
It struck us as plainly unfair. We were fairly sure we could do better, so we decided to go direct: find genuinely good brand-new sofas, and sell them at something close to what they're really worth.
That's what we do now. We've taken our sofa knowledge, our reputation and our hands-on delivery experience and focused them on offering only the very best brand-new sofas, at prices that beat the high street. The idea is simple: a world-class sofa for far less than you'd pay at a big-name store, delivered with the same personal care we've always given.
